| James Morley started playing the drums in high school bands
before taking up the bass (at an audition for a drummer no less) in the late
eighties. He joined The Rookies who went on to become one of Western
Australia's biggest pub bands at the time, drawing over a thousand
people, 3 nights a week for 3 years. After their demise, he formed Strawberry Blonde who took over from where
The
Rookies left off. |

| As the band were about to embark on a recording project, James caught wind of an opening as
bass player for rock legends The Angels.
Within a couple of weeks, he had successfully got the job and was sitting at Ardent studios in
Memphis, recording Beyond Salvation, which went on to sell at
double platinum status and
became the first number one album for The Angels in Australia.
This was followed by MTV live videos, concert tours and overseas trips. One of the first
concerts he performed with the band was in front of 42,000 people alongside his favourite artists
such as Midnight Oil, Crowded House and
Jimmy Barnes to name a few. |

| Five years and a couple of more albums later, James left the band to record his own album (see soundbytes
here) at the famed Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas. This studio is
the second most successful (in record sales) in the world spawning AC/DC's Back in Black to name one of many world best sellers. At the helm of his
Freewheelin album was Terry Manning who was responsible for producing
ZZ Top and Led
Zeppelin amongst others.
James played all the instruments (bass, drums, guitar and vocals) himself. |
