“Self taught, naturally gifted. A tasty groove, an inspiring mix of creole and soul, an asset to all music…..” So says Suzanne Robertson, talking of her beloved only son.

Stuart was born into a musical family, and absorbed the music of his parent’s caribbean heritage, as well as the funkier side of the 70′s. After starting on hand percussion at 3, Stuart started playing the drumset in 1982, starting a musical journey that would take him across the world.

Stuart started playing professionally in 1988, and now, 20 years later, has enjoyed many varied musical endeavours. From the garage rock of “Mandy Monterey”, the award winning “WALL 2 Wall”, and numerous pool party bands, Stu has become one of Perth’s most respected players.

In the mid 90′s, Stu got his taste of success when, after a brief stint with Back 2 Back, he joined Perth Phenomena, “RADIO 80′S” Therein began a yearlong residency @ METROPOLIS CITY, a feat no other perth band has matched.

After 5 years, it was time for a new direction. Stu played in various original acts, before auditioning for the band, “OUR GENERATION” Beating out several of perth’s top skinsmen for this prestigious gig, Stu has made this talented group his home for the last 4 years, and has entertained countless thousands in that time.

Stuart plays BRADY DRUMS, which are handcrafted by the artisans @ Brady out of Western Australian Jarrah wood. For smaller, quieter gigs, Stu uses the new Traps a-400, a portable, shell-less set that still sounds great.
